Nutrients play a vital role in every physiological process in the body, from metabolism and immune defense to hormone regulation and digestion. Thus, proper nutrition is key to preventing certain diseases and for us to help you live your Epic life. This test will help us do that by identifying potential gaps in your nutrition as well as measuring the potential impact on your health and wellness.
What is the NutrEval® FMV?
This panel helps in diagnosing potential nutritional imbalances and assessing the impact of micronutrients on health and metabolic function. It analyzes over 125 biomarkers and evaluates over 40 antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, essential fatty acids, and other selected nutrients.
When is it recommended?
- Patients suffering symptoms related to nutritional imbalances and deficiencies such as mood disorders, cardiovascular disease, obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, autism, fatigue, weight issues, malnutrition, dietary guidance, maldigestion, malabsorption and increased nutrient demand in physical trauma or healing.
- Patients suffering from uncomfortable symptoms may be deficient in certain essential nutrients. Iron, Vitamin D, B12, calcium, and magnesium are the most common nutrient deficiencies in the United States and can be easily identified with a nutritional test.
Important Testing Information
- You must fast for at least 8 hours prior to your urine collection and blood draw.
- The test is conducted by collecting both a blood and urine test.
- Samples should be collected within a few days of each other.
- Do not collect urine while menstruating.
- Certain medications may need to be discontinued prior to your test.

Results Analysis
The test synthesizes the information via an algorithm that determines the patient’s personalized nutrient needs. It takes approximately 14 business days to process your results once received by Genova Diagnostics. You will receive a report with actionable results, including:
- Digestive support and vitamin, amino acid, mineral, and fatty acid recommendations.
- Functional pillars with a built-in scoring system to guide therapy for mitochondrial dysfunction, toxic exposures, fatty acid imbalances, methylation support, and oxidative stress.
- Educational information on the function of nutrients and complications of deficiencies, including dietary sources.
- Your Epic provider will conduct a face to face review of these results with you to help create the next steps in your plan of care.

Health is like a puzzle. Each piece—mindset, nutrition, movement, rest—seems small alone, but together, they create something extraordinary. For two decades, I ignored my health puzzle, stuck on a yo-yo roller coaster of diets and energy swings, convinced I had it figured out. If you’ve stared in the mirror after years of ups and downs, you know the mental and physical toll. My wake-up call came from my wife, who bravely tackled her own health journey. Her courage to ask for help inspired me to face my puzzle, even as a man nearing 40, when pride screamed, “I’ll do it alone.” Spoiler: going solo doesn’t work. Swallowing my pride, I found four cornerstones that changed everything. I admitted I wasn’t healthy, sought professional help at Epic Integrative Wellness, became obsessed with understanding my body through bloodwork and research, and built a sustainable routine. Consistency—that elusive piece—felt like it was buried in a couch cushion, finally within reach.
I was 41 years old and 4 kids deep and pretty happy with my dad bod. From the first meeting… just in the first five minutes, I realized… man, I’m not living the type of life I could be. And look, I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life right now.
